So close to perfect

It's my favorite time. It's getting close to Christmas, so the Amy Grant CD is perpetually in the CD player. We put up our tree last night, and bought some more home decor today. James' face lights up every time he walks (is carried) into the living room. He LOVES lights & shiny things, so he thinks it's great fun that we have a tree in our house now. There are pretty candles burning on our mantle, and the lights are all off, so the room is really dim. James is upstairs sleeping, and Max fell asleep on the sofa. The pets are all put away, so the house is completely quiet. Every once in a while, Max snores. Or james will stir in his sleep (he rotates as he's sleeping - lately, as he's gotten taller, he's getting stuck & will require some assistance to keep rotating around the crib).

It's about as close to perfect as it could get.

... let's just hope the candles on the mantle don't catch the garland on fire.
