February Picture

Here it is - i know you've all been waiting! This picture was taken a week ago, when I was almost 31 weeks pregnant. Scarily enough, I already look different, just one week later. "Billy Bob" has had the hiccups three times today - once when I was in the shower, the 2nd time when I was working this afternoon, and the 3rd time when Max & I were done with dinner. Max commented that his hiccups are as strong as his kicks used to be. I laughed & said - yeah, and now his kicks almost hurt me! For the past week or so, he's found that putting his head down is much more comfortable, which is good for him, but is quite uncomfortable for me. walking upstairs is oh-so-pleasant, and walking up an even slightly sloping hill is enough to keep me wincing the whole time. He's still amazingly active, and I am still amazed at his movements and general being. (I'm also amazed at how tired I get doing absolutely nothing.)

I'm really anxious to meet this little guy face-to-face, and yet I'm really counting on him staying put until mid- to late- april. There's so much to do before he gets here, and at the rate we're going, it'll take us that long just to get the house unpacked, let alone his nursery ready!

Hope everyone is doing well...

I know I wasn't supposed to...

but I've been checking our baby registries online. Max is taking a nap, and my heartburn prevented me from laying down too much longer with him. (I had already been sleeping for 2 hours!) I came downstairs, started some laundry, contemplated working on the study, and decided to waste some time online. Naturally, I founod myself at our registries. (Our showers are 2 & 3 weeks away).

People have already bought us stuff!!! For some reason, this made me choke up more than looking at wedding registries did. I'm completely overwhelmed at the AMOUNT of stuff that we need for this little boy to come home, and even more frightened at the expense of it all. And that our friends & family, all of whom bought us wedding gifts in abundance last summer, are already purchasing these things to help us welcome our little guy home. (He must have known I was thinking about him, 'cause he started "dancing" when I was looking at the registries!)

I can't wait to decorate & set up his room... I'm "making" us finish the rest of the house first, though, before I get to play nursery. Unfortunately, that doesn't increase my energy level enough to do anything with the boxes of books and other things that need gone through. I've been temping the last 2 days, which has been good for our finances, but tough on my energy. I'm feeling good until I get through rush hour (really, rush 15 minutes) and come home. Then, the tiredness hits & our sofa calls out to me.

... That's all for now. Time to get something done today!
